Argosy + Plaid Flannel Shirts

I love to be a broken record. It's the only way to get a point across sometimes.

By now, everyone knows that plaid's hot hot hot this season and will continue its reign at least through spring, if not longer. I wrote about several stores a few months ago that are the best for buying plaid shirts in a variety of price ranges: from over $100 ones at Stock (143 East 13th Street @ 3rd Ave) to $15 ones at the thrift store whose name I don't know at 12th Street and 1st Ave.

What I found out yesterday is that my favorite of all the shops Argosy (428 East 9th Street) -- he buys incredibly good pieces and his prices are insanely affordable -- has pulled out all the punches with two full racks of plaid flannel shirts that rival the ones at Stock, but cost between $25-35 instead of the $100+ at Stock.

I got the hottest Carhartt flannel yesterday for $30. It fits me perfectly, the fabric is worn in just so, and at $30, I can go back and buy a few more. Get 'em while they're hot and as the temperature drops.
