Daily Desire: Tom Binns' Anti Luxxx

I've just discovered a new line by CFDA award winning jewelry designer Tom Binns called Anti-Luxxx. Instead of a real jewel, you get a metal place etched with the words "large sapphire" or "big fuck off diamond". Hot hot and more hot.

The Belfast born jewelry designer isn't new to the game, but for some reason -- maybe because I don't buy expensive women's jewelry -- I'm just getting word of his work and it's clear why he's so well-respected. His stuff rocks.

Binns graduated in 1981 with a degree in jewelry design and began working immediately on his own line of custom made pieces. Influenced by the Dada movement, Binns started creating a line in his signature "Object Trouvees" style that got him the attention of the likes of Vivian Westwood and Malcolm Maclaren, both of whom he has collaborated with, in his now famed "Punk Couture" signature style.

Check out Binns' site for more info on him and for lots of pics of his collections. I promise you'll love it. Whether or not you'll be able to afford anything is another story.

According to the NY Times blogger Sandra Ballentine, a Tom Binns "megastore" has opened at 41 Perry Street in New York. Click here for more details.
