Raw Power Redux Screening

If you love Iggy Pop and you love Mick Rock, you should check out the screening of rockumentary Raw Power Redux. It's part of The New York International Independent Film and Video Festival (NYIIFVF), which is on now through 03.26.09.

Two rock n roll icons Mick Rock and Iggy Pop come together again thirty five years later to shoot another legendary photo shoot. Mick Rock shows his legendary photos he shot in the 70's of a young Iggy and tells brief stories about the shoots and events that were going on in that time period of the early punk and Glam era.

When they come together in Sept. 2007 to create Raw Power Redux, you can see that the passage of time has in no way blemished their love and respect for each other. And once again iconic images are produced by these legends of rock n roll. Dean Holtermann's brilliant fly on the wall camera technique captures the natural unpretentiousness of the two and editor Jen Chia nicely lays out a true flow of pure photography genius.

The screening is on Tuesday, 03.24.09 at 8pm at The Village East Cinema (181 2nd. Ave). Get tickets here and check out this sneak peak video clip on YouTube.

Don't forget to check out the listing of all remaining films in the festival and read more about the festival.

There's an after party for the Raw Power Redux screening in the East Village, but that's a private affair.
