Made In Queens

Check this out: Made In Queens.

"Since last summer some Trinidadian teenagers living on the dreary outskirts of Queens have been putting their DIY skills to work rebuilding old bmx bikes into enormous homemade pa-systems on wheels. These bad boys pump out over 5000 watts each in a tight mix of everything from Shabba Ranks to Zapp & Roger, and are even more powerful than some competition-level car audio systems. It would be enough to stop traffic on Liberty Avenue if weren?t gridlocked already. Even the subway running overhead has been rendered inaudible."

"It was all nicey-nicey til April when the Legal Intentionz garage was broken into and nearly all the group?s equipment was been stolen. Word on Liberty Avenue is it this was an inside job: the gear (over $10K worth) having been boosted by a jealous up-and-comer in the crew. Legal Intentionz crew members had been keeping mum about the identity of the alleged perpetrator until the documentary crew who has been shooting the film Made In Queens chronicling them had their cameras rolling."

These kids are hot and you'll definitely want to checkout what they're up to. The film is premiering this month at the Edinburgh Film Festival and, if my intuition is correct, will be at US film festivals and screening around the country in no time.

Checkout their website. Watch the trailer. And bookmark their blog. This is one you won't want to miss.
