| Celebrifantasy Whether or not you like it, celebrities are the new religion. There's no two ways about it. Like the weather, everyone can talk to anyone on the topic of celebrity, and, like the popular kids at school, we all love people to talk about and look up to in order to save us from our own realities. So what do you get when you marry the new religion with something like fantasy football? Celebrifantasy, of course. Like fantasy football, you pick a team and compete with your friends. Instead of athletes, your teams consist of celebrities, who earn you points by being mentioned in the press. The more press, the more points. "Simply put, playing in a Celebrifantasy league involves creating a team, which you are the sole proprietor of, and participating in a draft with other players in your league to select a roster of celebrities which will be subject to your alterations (through trading, adding and dropping) for the ten week season." "Your team will score points once a week, based on your celebrities' appearances in the current issues of US Weekly, Star, InTouch and People." If you're not so into playing in the celebrity fantasy world, check it out anyway. The site aggregates articles from the numerous celebrity blogs (Perez Hilton, TMZ, The Superficial, Pink Is The New Blog, etc), saving you from having to visit each separately. Kinda like a mini RSS feed for the celebrity blogs that they deem fit to read. Uh oh. Move over fantasy footballers, now the people in PR, HR, and on the Creative Team will have something to talk about at the cooler. It's like the perfect storm, if you ask me. Email me if you want to join the league I created. I don't know how to direct link to the league page and have to send you an email invite instead. |
