| Oki Ni + Raf Simons I can't seem to shake my footwear obsession. Everywhere I look, it's hot boots, shoes, sneakers, and I'm sure once the weather gets nicer, I'll start to look at flip flops too. The latest pair of sneakers to strike my fancy: Raf Simons Half Blocked Military Trainer available at Oki Ni. The Raf Simons Half Blocked military style ankle sneaker in soft white leather featuring striking black toecap detail, padding at the ankle and subtly branded Velcro straps to fasten. This shoe consists of simple clean lines with white piping for definition. Just look at them: they're just short of perfection, well despite the nearly $600 price tag that is. I'd also have trouble figuring out if they'd look better kept brand brand new or if I'd want to break them in a bit, which at that price might be a hard pill to swallow. Thankfully, my frugality doesn't get in the way of my day dreams, just my actual purchases. Don't forget to check out the pair with the inverted color scheme, which I'm not as fond of. Oki Ni also carries the Fred Perry/Raf Simons collaboration collection, which I must say is a little pricey. With an original price tag of $325 for a plain black polo shirt, it's very similarly priced to the Comme des Garcons line for Fred Perry that came before it, which was equally amazing (if you only knew how many times I looked at the overdyed polo shirts at Barney's hoping the $425 price tag would somehow lower itself for me!), but not something most people in their right mind would actually buy. If you're unfamiliar with it, make sure to check out Oki Ni's site. They do an amazing job at buying and lots is on sale at the moment, so if you're inclined to get any of this high-end streetwear type stuff, now's the time because it won't get much cheaper than this. |
