| People V Hanratty Weekly Mix Sorry I have not done one of these in a while. This week mix makes no sense, but it does have a few gems. I really advocate the videos this week. Will really blow you away. Anyways enjoy Happy New Years etc.. I will definitely be sticking to this on a weekly basis and also plan to expand it some other areas of musical triteness. 10. Daily Routine (Animal Collective) / Not my favorite or even my second favorite song on the record and it would probably make me sea sick on a boat, but still amazing. 9. Our Girls (Baby Bird Don’t Drink Milk) / I have played this for many people to no reaction, so of course I will make it part of the mix. Very distant singing as if it was recorded in some distant mythical land like…Lawrence, Kansas. Also maybe a poor mans Animal Collective, but I like it. 8. I'm Very Scared Buster, Yes At Last (George Pringle) / I just find this is quite a nice winter song for some reason, sort of a distinctly British song. The song is admittedly rather vacuous, but really enjoyable. I always expected this to be really popular. 7. Walking on A Dream (Empire of the Sun) / This song sounds like a call to arms for Trannies. Seriously see this music video it looks like a Michael Jackson financial investment. Oh yeah and it’s also awesome. 6. Teenage Suicide (Clubfeet) / Ah two Aussie bands in a row. What was I thinking…I assume this song is a reference to the movie Heathers and for that I am going to back it. If it surfaces that this is not the case please disregard this one forever. 5. Ghost Town Part 1 (Dan Friel) / David LaChapelle would probably not be into. This is a really wonderful song from the front man of Brooklyn’s Parts & Labor. 4. Desert Storm (Gang Gang Dance) / One of my favorite records from last year. After enduring some very artistic (I mean bad) records they finally fulfilled their promise with this one. 3. Auratorium (Ensemble Pittoresque) / Early 80’s Minimalist electro music from the home of the War Crimes Tribunal. This is music in the vein of the Silver Apples and was clearly made by genius. 2. Float On (The Floaters) / Okay so this song is a winner on several accounts first of all the song title is the root word for the groups name. Second everyone in the group introduces themselves not just by name, but also by astrological sign. The video pretty much looks like a reenactment of heaven. 1. I'm Sorry (It Just Ain't Gonna Work Out) (Mayor Hawthorne) / This song is smooth. |
