Rick Owens Funnell Leather Jacket

Ya'll know how much I love Rick Owens. A lot.

Most of his stuff is just plain hot, although I can rarely even think about buying anything because it's so expensive. Doesn't mean I can't admire from afar.

Check out this piece I wrote on Owens for CITY a few issues ago. It'll give you some insight into my obsession with the LA-born Paris-based American designer who is currently the darling of the fashion world.

I was window shopping online -- as I do lots these days -- and came across a super hot leather jacket by Owens currently for sale at oki-ni. It's called the Funnell Leather Jacket and it's the most gorgeous thing I've ever seen. Yes, it's a leather jacket, but there's a twist. A sick twist that is so genius I can't even speak.

Made from tyvek pasted over leather it graduates in colour from light grey to black. Leather is intentionally distressed with cracks and tears naturally occurring at the waist. Check out the pics below for a closeup of how the tyvek, which is slightly tattered, looks up close.

If you've got $2,800 or so to burn, snatch one of these up right quick and I guarantee you'll be the toast of the town. If I'm ever so lucky to see someone wearing one of these in real life, I'm going to ask to touch it so be forewarned!!

You can also stop by the Rick Owens store (250 Hudson Street) in New York to check it out in person, although I'm not sure they'll have it. Some pieces for oki-ni are exclusive.
