Keith Haring

Keith Haring fan and gallery owner Jeffrey Deitch has a book out about the late, great New York graffiti artist entitled quite simply Keith Haring. It's a must for any serious fans of Haring and a great gift for all art lovers.

Closely based on Haring's own concept for the monograph he wanted to publish before his untimely death, this volume represents more than a decade of research and contains a wealth of unpublished photographic and written material including drawings, studio photographs, and journal entries.

Including extensive previously unpublished texts, interviews, and visual material from the archives of the artist's estate, this book traces the arc from Haring's early subway tags, to his poignant work on social issues as diverse as AIDS, illiteracy, and apartheid. So much more than a tribute to the artist's work, Keith Haring vividly documents a very particular time in the social history of New York City. Andy Warhol, Kenny Scharf, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Madonna, Fab Five Freddy, Jellybean Benitez, and many other legendary characters are here, bringing to vivid life this richly creative time.

Additionally, Kenny Scharf and George Condo -- contribute to the book, giving it that extra touch of authenticity.
