Pop-Up Factory: Manhattan @ Odin Leave it to the boys at Odin to come up with a twist on a hackneyed concept creating something fresh and new: the Pop-up Factory. This Friday through Sunday, Entermodal will be taking its production out of the studio and onto the road, erecting the first, Pop-Up Factory: Manhattan. This factory will exist for three days only within the walls of the Soho location of Odin, and will be a small-scale version of Entermodal's working studio in Portland, OR. Designer/Owner Larry Olmstead is packing up his custom tool set, a century old stitching horse, and a selection of never before released leather options, colors, and linings. The entire Entermodal production team will be on site, working around the clock-cutting, sewing, and hand stitching each bag and wallet that was ordered for a holiday delivery for their two men's locations as well as the new women's boutique: Pas de Deux. Additionally, Entermodal will be releasing the Spring 09 collection early, exclusively, at this event. Larry and his team are meticulous with each detail and are aiming to create an heirloom. By moving the studio into a public space, they will further connect their skilled craftsmen and women with those interested in the techniques, design, and labor that goes into each piece produced. Onlookers can watch every step of the process, ask questions, and even make personal customizations/monogramming to their purchase. Entermodal was born in 2004 of Olmstead's passion for design coupled with his insistence that he would only pour his heart into a brand committed and willing to push sustainable practices. Now, recognized for timeless design, meticulous attention to detail, use of beautiful materials and a deep commitment to environmental sustainability, the Entermodal team continues to do luxury differently, intelligently and on their own terms. It's like Santa's workshop right here in big 'ol New York City, and just a bit tamer than Paul McCarthy's Santa Buttplug Chocolate Factory last year at Maccarone Gallery. Entermodal + Odin
