oki ni's Raf Simons Archive

By now you've realized I go a little crazy over oki-ni. It's one of the few online stores where -- if I had the cash, mind you -- I'd want to buy over 75% of the items they stock. And most of the stuff I wouldn't buy for myself, I can still appreciate, but am smart enough to know it's not my thing.

In addition to the e-commerce component, they've just soft launched a new archive section, where you can take a look back at styles from designer's past collections. Nothing can be bought from the archive, but, while some styles are sure to look dated, if you're anything like, you'll wish some of the pieces were available.

Says oki ni: by launching an archive feature we wanted to offer our customers a chance to explore labels and genres a little further than just their current collections and give them an opportunity to find out more about the designer's history through their products.

We thought it was really important for us to demonstrate that true product is and has been our life for a long time. Anyone can get a few labels together and put them in a store; we really want people to trust in us and our knowledge and for them to believe we'll only ever bring them the best of what's available out there – not just product but information too.

Raf Simons provides our first archive installment with pieces spanning from his initial mid 90s collections to present day. You'll find key pieces throughout, as well as a real insight into what we feel were his most important collections. These garments are from a personal collection, as time goes on the product matures in style and tastes and preference change. The model's eyes are covered as we wanted this section to be solely focused on product.

We've produced the archive because we wanted to and because we wanted to keep giving our sites visitors more than just products to buy. We want oki-ni to offer a completely unique experience and this is one of the ways we're trying to do that.

Genius idea! Check out the Raf Simon's archive here. It's amazing how much time has passed since Simons came onto the scene and how much influence he's had in that time. I'm not sure who's up next, but as soon as I get word, I'll be sure to let you know.
