I know PUMA's been trying to make a comeback and in certain respects, they have done a great job. I also know that they've teamed up with Alexander McQueen and have designed some hot, albeit it insanely priced sneakers over the past few years. And if you've been folowing closely, you know I'm in love with the white on white canvas mid top 917's, but my question is: when did PUMA cross the threshold and become really hot again?

In addition to the few styles I just mentioned, when I was the PUMA store in SoHo today, there were so many hot styles, that even I'm now a convert. Not all were my style, mind you, but I'm really picky when it comes to sneakers.

I did, though, end up finding and buying a hot pair -- the Unlimited Hi EVO -- in all black. And for only $90! While $90 isn't dirt cheap, compared to other sneakers like these and, especially compared to all the hipster brands on the market these days, $90 is kind of a steal.
