Silversun Pickups / Swoon

One of the bands I've been most obsessed with recently -- Silversun Pickups -- are set to release their long-await, much-anticipated second record Swoon on 04.14.09. It's currently available on iTunes and Amazon to pre-order and word on the street is that it leaked on 03.27.09, but nobody's sent me anything as of yet.

Swoon is the forthcoming second album by Los Angeles indie rock band Silversun Pickups. The album was produced by Dave Cooley who had worked with the band on their first album, Carnavas. Recording began in July of 2008.

Read the full Wiki for the record here. I'm not sure if you've been paying attention or if I've conveyed it as much on the blog as in my life, but I fucking love this band. I could listen to Carnavas over and over and over. It's addictive and just doesn't get old. I love how the lead singer, who's a guy, sounds like a really tough chick who's pissed off when he sings. His voice is amazing.

If you haven't downloaded it or heard it yet, go to their MySpace, where you can test drive a few of the more popular songs -- not to mention the first track from Swoon called Panic Switch.

Don't forget to check out their site, and, if you're hardcore, follow them on Twitter. They'll be performing on Sunday, 08.02.09 at All Points West. I'm still kinda in shock that such a hot band is out of LA. Who knew.
