Orthodox Jackets and Other Things I Want

I was playing the "if I could actually afford to buy something, what would I get?" game while in bed this morning wondering what to write about.

This is what I found.

5. Orthodox Orwell Shirt
4. Engineered Garments Zip Front Hoodie
3. Band Of Outsiders Hunting Shirt
2. Ju$t Another Rich Kid Plaid Shirt
1. Orthodox Marquez Leather Jacket

And while I love Band Of Outsiders' hunting shirt, I'd definitely stop by one of my favorite East Village thrift stores before throwing down $584 for something I could probably get in the same colors and pattern for a 1/4 of the cost, and that's at the super expensive store.

If you're looking for plaid shirts, checkout Stock (143 E. 13th St), Argosy (428 East 9th Street), Search & Destroy (25 Saint Marks Pl), and this other store whose name I don't know, but popped in last weekend. It's on 1st Ave just north of 12th Street. Amazing plaid shirts for $25 and under!

Remember: with a lot of these $25 and under shirts, they may fit you as well as a custom indie shirt and they may not. Buy it and bring it a a tailor, who will fit it for you for $20 or so, which brings your total for a one of a kind, fitted to your body shirt at $50 or less.
