| Commes Des Garcons + H&M H&M's done it again. This time taking iconic Japanese designer Rei Kawakubo of Commes Des Garcons fame to bed for its latest high-end/low-end collaboration. What you can expect?? Says W Magazine: "Mostly black and with Japanese tomboy airs, the H&M collection includes a range of tailored jackets, many deconstructed, along with cropped pants, baggy shorts and a variety of skirts in stretch wool. On the perkier side are polkadot knits in jersey or merino wool, colorful shirts—some with dots—and a showpiece coatdress decorated here and there with dense Victorian ruffles. There are also accessories and a unisex perfume with notes of cedar and patchouli." Hot!! I may have to replace my current staple Jaisalmer from CDG Series 3, Incense. Let's hope the H&M scent costs a fraction of what I pay now. And as far as the clothes go?! I have a a feeling the men's line is much better looking in person than the women's. More wearable anyway. If you're going to wear something that's avant-garde, it really has to be highend in materials and construction or it'll look cheap and not chic. When will the collection hit shops?? "Not coincidentally, the Kawakubo collection will arrive in stores just as H&M plants its first outlets in Japan: one in Ginza, another in hypertrendy Harajuku and a third coming next year in Shibuya." Keep your eyes peeled and checkout the pics below. Pics courtesy of Pedestrian.tv.
