*Nice Collective Sample Sale/Berlin's Art Bunker/Gunnin' For That #1 Spot

1. Mark your calendars, Nice Collective is having their semi-annual sample sale in San Francisco on Sunday, June 01 from 12 - 5pm (Treat Avenue @ 19th Street). Recently named one of America's top menswear designers, this sale is sure to sell out fast, as anyone who's been in the past knows. Not only will you find clothes from the previous season's collections, but Joey and Ian also make accessories and bags that you'll find only at the sample sale, which is even more incentive to check it out. If you're well-connected, try to get your hands on one of the 50 VIP passes that will get you into the 1 hour VIP shopping event, which happens just prior to the public sale. Keep your eyes peeled, the Nice guys have given me tees and 3 VIP passes to give away to my devoted readers. Stay tuned!

2. As if there aren't enough reasons to visit Berlin already, a new private museum is opening in what used to be a Nazi bunker. "For decades, no one has known what to do with an eight-story flak tower in downtown Berlin. Its two-meter walls were too thick to blow up without damaging neighboring buildings and its interior - dank, dark and made up of 160 small rooms - seemed unsuitable for anything but a horror show. Starting this weekend, however, the tower is home to one of Germany's most important private collections of contemporary art. The Sammlung Boros, founded by Duisburg adman Christian Boros, is opening to the public, albeit on a schedule as idiosyncratic as its home." Read the rest in the Wall Street Journal article. Make sure to checkout Sammlung Boros' collection (you have to get a password to view), where you'll find works by: Olafur Eliasson, Damien Hirst (shocker!), Mark Leckey, Sarah Lucas, Kris Martin, Elizabeth Peyton, Wolfgang Tillmans, and Thomas Zipp. The best part about this space: when it was deemed unfit for anything "respectable", it was used for raves and, at one time, was the epicenter of the S&M scene in Berlin. HOT!

3. Somehow in my list of Tribeca Film Festival recommendations a week or so back, I overlooked the Beastie Boy Adam Yauch directed film Gunnin' For That #1 Spot. "Throughout the year, in parks and playgrounds around the country, boys of all ages try to show each other up on the blacktop, invoking the likes of Michael, Magic, LeBron, and Kobe. Some of them possess a talent that rises above the others, and united with unparalleled determination, focus, and strength of will, they go on to excel in high school, becoming potential stars of tomorrow."
