MM Paris/Tretorn + Hus/Tretorn Mid Canvas 1. One of my favorite graphic design/artist teams - M/M (Paris) - have updated the selection of posters available for sale from their site. "M/M (Paris) is a partnership between Mathias Augustyniak and Michael Amzalag, founded in 1992. Working within the framework and language of design, these artists manifest a diverse practice across the fields of art, music, and fashion." Once you see the designs, you'll know why these guys are on the top of my favorites list. Don't forget to checkout their site for a full list of projects and installations and the ever popular Alphabet series of prints. 2. By now everyone knows that Puma bought Tretorn a few years back. So far, nothing major has changed with the design or branding, which is exactly the way it should be. The only noticeable difference is a huge push to bring Tretorn to the attention of the American consumer and given what's going on in the sneaker market right now, the timing couldn't be any better. West Village store Hus (All Scandinavia, all the time) has teamed up with Tretorn to bring the brand to the streets. "We have a custom built Tretorn Wellie Wagon that will be in New York for the next 3 weekends selling Tretorn wellies, sneakers, accessories, and apparel outside." They'll be out and about for the next three (3) Saturdays from 10 -5pm at the following locations: 04.19.08 @ Jackson Square Park (where 8th Ave and Greenwich intersect); 04.26.08 Christopher Park (where Grove and Christopher intersect); and Bleecker Street Playground (where Bleecker Street, W 11th Street & Hudson Street interect). And don't worry, they'll be taking credit and debit cards, as well as cash. No need to hit up the ATM before checking it out. 2. I've just checked out the latest selection of Tretorn styles on Hus' site and am really into a few of the new styles, specifically the Mid Canvas (these are my favorites) and the Tournament Sail. If you can't make it to the Wellie Wagon, get what you need at Tretorn's online store. |
