Apartamento Magazine/Paul Mpagi Sepuya Book Release/Reprise + MoMA I've never known Italians to be lacking for words, but I guess I was wrong. I just got an invite for Apartamento Magazine's opening party. The tagline: an everyday life interiors magazine. That's it. See for yourself. I gather from the invite and from their site that Apartamento is a magazine that shows real people's houses and apartments and not the insanely tricked out places we see depicted in most magazines, be they interior, fashion, or design. I can't wait to get my hands on a copy. If you're in Milan on 04.17.08, stop by Showroom Spotti (Viale Piave, 27) between 6:30 and 10:00 pm. 2. I love a good book release party at The Cock (29 Second Avenue at 2nd Street). One of my new favorite photographers - Paul Mpagi Sepuya - hosts a party there tomorrow for his hot-off-the-presses BELOVED OBJECT & AMOROUS SUBJECT, REVISITED. Party starts at 11, don't be late. 3. Wow. I just watched the trailer for Reprise, a 2006 film by Norwegian Joachim Trier that was an official selection of both the 2007 New Directors/New Films festival and the Sundance Film Festival. "Trier's fast-moving story kicks off just as Phillip (Anders Danielsen Lie) and Erik (Espen Klouman-Hoiner) stand at the mailbox—each is about to ship off his first novel to publishers, hoping to become a "cult author"; each has visions of a new life of nonstop intensity, brilliance, and romance." Watch the trailer and try to win 1 set of the 60 tickets MoMA is giving away for a free screening this Saturday 04.19.07 at 7pm in Theater 3 at the museum. |
