The first time I heard IMA READ, I was totally offended. Then I listened and a friend explained who the artist was and made me listen more closely, which put things into perspective. He’s got a new EP coming out and the preview on Pitchfork‘s site is awesome.
Brooklyn resident Zebra Katz will be releasing his forthcoming EP DRKLNG worldwide on June 4th. For a taste of what’s to come, go to Pitchfork Advance and listen to the DRKLNG mixtape which features tracks from the forthcoming EP, as well as an exclusive cover of Zebra Katz debut single IMA READ titled IMA LEAD by the legendary rapper Busta Rhymes.
Zebra Katz is currently preparing for his European tour this summer including dates with South African rap-rave group Die Antwoord and plans to return to North America for a string of tour dates later this year.

In case you haven’t been paying attention, I love love love love New York brand Nicholas K. It’s the perfect mix of edgy/cool and wearable and, best of all, you don’t have to be 5’11″ and weigh 125 lbs to look good in it. They once had a model who looked like he even worked out!
Check out the Spring/Summer 2013 menswear collection from New York-based designer Kai D. The line is Americana inspired classic pieces done with a sporty, casual look. I’ve been to the designer’s studio and seen a previous collection in the flesh and can say the craftsmanship is superb.
