White Valentine Men We got an email out of the blue a few days back about a line of men’s jewelery from Italy (shocking, we know!) named WhiteValentine that we think is really something else.

White Valentine is a brand of silver jewelery, all made in Italy. This new project is supported by the Italian company Livior, one of the most important worlwide distibutors of silver chains. WV infuses in its collections the know how of the italian tradition and the innovation of modern design.

The pieces are gorgeous: at the same time delicate and masculine, chunky and refined. The craftsmanship and quality are glaringly apparent. Exactly what we’ve come to expect from Italian designers. Check out the images below to see exactly what we’re talking about.

Arielle de Pinto CharmsSuper cool Canadian jewelry designer Arielle de Pinto has a brand new set of charms out that we think rock. They’re rough around the edges and have a dark and broody otherworldly look to them, which we love.

A fine arts graduate of Concordia University in 2007, de Pinto developed her unique style of metal work over the course of studies in print and textiles and a series of internships.

Launching a line later that same year Arielle is a regular participant in New York and Paris fashion weeks and her collection of hand-worked jewelry is presented by select specialty stores internationally.

In addition to her own work and Montreal-based studio, Arielle collaborates with other designers within the artistic communities of New York, Montreal, and Berlin.

Check out the charms below and make sure to visit de Pinto’s site for lots more info. (more…)

We’re HUGE fans of Chronicles of Never. HUGE. Those shoes…

We’re pleased to have a Square Black Signet Ring (retail value $380) from the line to give away to our dear readers this week. We’re already bracing for the most emails ever about a giveaway.

Chronicles of Never is the brainchild of Gareth Moody, co-founder and ex-designer of Australian label Tsubi/Ksubi. This work marks a departure from the rock and roll aesthetic of his former brand to something a bit more conceptually unified and focused.

We’re always excited to get look books from avant-garde French design duo Mouton Collet. The most recent look book to cross our path is the one for the Fall/Winter 2010 women’s collection Feroce. There’s a big description in the look book on the collection, but it’s in French and our French isn’t what it used to be.

We’ll sum it up in three words: h-o-t. See the images below and make sure to check out their site for images of past collections, including their men’s line.

Dominic JonesYou know how we’re on this chunky jewelry tip, right? Well, we were shopping around online and came upon some jewelry by British designer Dominic Jones that we love. While not huge fans of Goth, we’d say Dominic Jones’ designs are more minimal Goth line, which is right up our alley.

Jones moved to London in 2003 to study Contemporary Jewelry @ the Sir John Cass School of Art and Design. In late 2008, with the help of long time friend and now business partner and financial backer Alice Dellal, Jones set up his first line of jewelry under the current Dominic Jones brand. The rest, as they say, is history.

Check out Jones’ site for more images from the collection, his full bio, and a soon-to-launch eShop.

Funny how our tastes change. While we haven’t completely turned our bag on small charms and thin chains for guys, we’ve found a few lines of jewelry lately that are anything but that we’ve fallen in love with. First, it was Workstatt:Muenchen and now a collection by Italian accessories designer Ugo Cacciatori.

Currently out for women is a collection called the Octopus Collection: the time to face the island has come. A last glance to the shore unexpectedly reveals further evidence attracting the attention of our adventurer. Tiny pearls, simply anchored to silver collets framing their natural beauty. Clustered in random complex shapes, they seem to mimic already met treasures though in their original way. Falling silver chains imprisoning the minute metallic-toned spheres, others jointed to create animated grapes as muscles seized to a rope submerged for centuries, they all look like relics of a wreck.

There’s a German jewelry line called Workstatt:Muenchen that we’re so into right now. It shouldn’t surprise you that it’s carried at some of the hottest, most exclusive stores in the world like Atelier New York, Andreas Murkudis, Antonioli, Seibu, and L’Eclaireur.

“In some of our jewellery items you’ll be surprised by little details you find at the second or third glance. It is this love to detail that makes jewellery emotional and valuable.

The secret of our jewellery is its simplicity in design and the materials used – sterling silver, leather and gold. The basis of our design processes is clarity and authenticity. What looks like silver is silver and what looks like gold is gold. The leather makes a statement by nothing but its surface and its cut – without further adornment.

Shaun Leane

We’re in love with the pieces from Shaun Leane’s collection that are currently available at super chic menswear boutique Atelier New York, especially the Silver Horn/Cross/Button Necklace shown here.

Renowned for his darkly romantic and beautifully crafted jewelery; his work has been described by Sotheby’s, London’s prestigious auction house, as ‘antiques of the future’.

Leane’s first diamond collection was launched in 2005 in celebration of his 20th year in the jewelery industry. The collection marked a return to his traditional jewelery roots with hand crafted pieces that celebrate the exclusivity of high end jewelery. His idea of fusing fashion with tradition introduced a new element to fine jewelery.

Check out Atelier New York’s site for their very well-picked selection of pieces and make sure to check out Leane’s site for much much more.

Giuliano Fujiwara Gioielli

One of our favorite designers – Giuliano Fujiwara — has just inked a deal that has him designing a line of jewelry.

Starting from F/W 2010-11, final consumers will be able to find these new creations,in some exclusive multi-brand stores, as well as in the Giuliano Fujiwara shops of Milan, Rome, Tokyo and Taipei.

Once again, it’s Masataka Matsumura – the brand’s creative director – who chose to partner with an Italian manufacturing company in order to develop a collaboration, as it’s often happened in the recent past: Giovanni Bosso Atelier – whose headquarter is based in the goldsmiths district of Valenza – has been operating for decades in the field of jewellery, and has gained an outstanding reputation for its contemporary and innovative designs, qualities that made it the ideal interpreter of Giuliano Fujwara’s sophisticated and minimal style.
