Bottega Vaneta Suede Desert BootSit down for this one — we think this might be the first thing EVER that we’ve liked by Bottega Veneta, but we could be wrong.

This pair of suede boots, though — simply awesome. While we recommended not wearing boots with shorts in this post on H by Hudson the other day (those boots are kinda high and you have to be incredibly stylish and/or tall to pull that off) we think these boots given their height would work equally well with pants or shorts.

Get yourself a pair in Matches eShop.

The Henry Clay People

The Henry Clay PeopleWe just listened to the just-dropped record by The Henry Clay People called Somewhere On The Gold Coast. We think they rock and we love the record!

The Henry Clay People are a rock and roll band from Los Angeles. With common comparisons to Pavement and The Replacements they play a type of no-frills, pretense-free rock that has sorely been missing from LA. The members have described their sound as “concise, sloppy, fun, spirited rock ’n’ roll music.” Sometimes bands are lousy at summing themselves up, but that nails it.

Check out their site, where you stream tracks from and buy Somewhere On The Gold Coast. Don’t forget to check them out on MySpace, where you can test drive a few tracks to get a feel for their sound.

Juma Spring/Summer 2010

JUMA Spring/Summer 2010Despite being well past spring and almost to the Summer Solstice, we still wanted to tell you about a cool, casual mens and womenswear line from Canada named JUMA. Although Fall/Winter 2010 shipments will soon begin to arrive in stores, it’s not going to be several months before we can even think of anything but shorts, tank tops, t-shirts, and the like.

JUMA is a fresh interpretation of knitwear and jersey basics mixed with directional accent pieces. Reflecting the cultural diversity of their surroundings and travels along with being inspired by their friends, who work in creative industries, the brother/sister design team developed JUMA in 2003. Together they co-design the collection, with a clear vision of the JUMA look and an instinctive understanding of fashion and design.

See for yourself in the images below and you’ll know what we mean: it’s wearable, well-cut, and looks great. Check out JUMA‘s site for more info.
