Check out the Fall/Winter 2012 collection from one of my new favorites — British menswear line Empire’s Union. In case you missed it, check out my coverage of the S/S 12 line here. As you’ll see, the collection has progressed quite nicely in just 1 season.

Shaped by the geometry of the star, their unique design philosophy has a highly distinctive and contemporary style. For the last 3 seasons, Empire’s Union has been blurring the line between casual and formal, offering instead a complete vision that transcends both.

Their priority is to introduce a sense of innovation and movement to an often predictable and repetitive landscape. Each detail of an Empire’s Union garment is a complete reinterpretation of its given function; be it a collar in two parts or a hollow cuff that interlocks. Their designs convey a natural logic that celebrates function and harmony while rejecting the superfluous.
