Issei Fujita has lived and worked in Italy since 1999. Fujita has always been fascinated by the traditional simplicity of Japan, where he takes his inspiration from combining his artistic visions with western ideals, and influences. Issei also does an abundance of research on special materials and fabrics – frequently using innovative treatments, and experimental techniques on his garments.

Check out the Spring/Summer 2014 (already?!) collection from Brazilian menswear line Der Metropol. I’ve been following the line since my last trip to 
The first time I heard IMA READ, I was totally offended. Then I listened and a friend explained who the artist was and made me listen more closely, which put things into perspective. He’s got a new EP coming out and the preview on Pitchfork‘s site is awesome.
Check out the Fall/Winter 2013 menswear collection from Enharmonic Tavern. The Japanese line is new to me, but save a few of the items in this collection, I like the rough-hewn, Americana as seen through a Japanese lenses inspired pieces and could picture myself wearing over half of the looks from this collection.
