We haven’t really covered a lot of Y-3 — there’s always been too much branding on everything for our taste — but we just had a pair of black sneakers up that we think are super hot. And, we got our hands on another pair of Y-3’s called the Honja Hi (retail $260) in navy that we haven’t seen until now.
All we can say is: we want a pair too! You guys get all the cool stuff and we get nothing!

You know we don’t cover too much womenswear, but we know a good thing when we see it. Yesterday, we covered the Fall/Winter 2010 men’s line by Masahiko Maruyama for nude. Today, it’s the same line, same designer, and same season, but the women’s collection, which we think is hot.
Make sure to check out nude’s site, where you’ll find images from past collections. And don’t forget to check out the pics below.

A friend just tipped us off to another band that we just can’t get enough of — San Francisco duo Girls.
It’s rare to find something as true and beautiful as the band Girls. Christopher Owens and JR White were meant to find each other, sincere rock and roll soul mates in the age of irony. And while that might sound like fancy, it’s closer to the truth than you think.
Christopher’s lyrics go straight for your heart, as they come directly from his. As he notes: “Sometimes the best way is to have simple lyrics. There’s this country song by Tim McGraw where he sings: ‘We’re all looking for love and meaning in our lives.’ To me, that speaks volumes, even though it’s so simple.”
It’s difficult to talk about the music of Girls without addressing Christopher’s unique background. Born into the Children Of God cult, he spent his childhood travelling the globe, attending prayer sessions and busking in the street, shielded from the outside world.
Read the band’s full bio on Matador Records‘ site, along with their news page, where you’ll find tour dates, videos, and much more. As always, don’t forget to check them out on MySpace to test drive several tracks.

We just got pics of the nude homme Fall/Winter 2010 collection by Masahiko Maruyama and we love it! Another line out of Japan that we can’t believe we haven’t heard of until now. It seems like the “iron curtain” of fashion between Japan and the US is slowly but surely coming down much to our liking.
The Fall/Winter 2010 collection from nude reveals a continuation from his SS10 theme Out of Focus. This concept is expressed in the form of double layering and washed-leather jackets which double as vests once the outer layer is removed. Working primarily in dark colors, the collection is enriched with leather boots and accessories.

Our friend David Lindwall — artist, designer, man about town — has just released his latest collection of tees. If you’ve seen prior collections, you’ll know he’s a master when it comes to mixing just the right elements graphically to keep the shirts cool and always on the darker side of things, but never crossing any lines.
The fit, fabric, and wash are top notch and, let’s just say, when it comes to color, he knows what people like to wear: washed blacks and whites. Check out his site for for more info. If you’re in New York, stop by Seven, who carry the line and sell out quickly. Don’t forget, he sells directly form his site, which is the best way to go. Make sure to surf around the site while you’re there to check out other projects he’s worked on. His work is really amazing.

By now, we’re sure you’ve heard of Portland indie band YACHT. We had a listen last night after a trusted source told us they were shocked we weren’t already their biggest fans. What’d we think? Hot.
Their bio says they played PS1 in 2006, but as we all know, anyone’s who’s cool stopped going around 2005. I guess we missed out, but we’d prefer to think of it as “good things come to those who wait” instead.
Jonathan Warren Bechtolt (born December 2, 1980), performing under the name Jona Bechtolt, is an electronic musician and multimedia artist based in Portland, Oregon, United States. He is a former member of The Blow, and has released solo records under the name YACHT since 2003. Nearly all of his recordings have been distributed by both Marriage Records and States Rights Records.
Read YACHT’s full bio/mission statement on their site, where you’ll find free mp3 downloads, tour dates, and much more. Don’t forget to check out the band’s MySpace, where you can listen to even more songs. We’re sure you’re going to like them as much as we do.
